About POJOS Family Fun Center

50 years ago, in April of 1974, we opened our doors for the first-time off Fairview and Eldorado in Boise, Idaho. We looked a little different 50 years ago. In our 6,500 square foot building, which still stands today, we had the newest trends of games. Foosball, Pinball and the “po-Jo” Game. Po-jo was an 18-hole miniature golf game played on irregular shaped billiard tables. Did you know that’s how we got our name? â€‹

Thank you Treasure Valley for 50 years of your support!

We had many satellite locations scattered around Boise and Nampa, the most popular being our location at the Karcher Mall in Nampa. We had a small snack bar named “Pojo’s Purple Pony” where we made some of the most delicious cookies. Our Nampa location operated from 1982-2002.

We moved to our current location at the Westgate Mall in 1992, the beginning of a new era. Moving from 6,500 square feet to 22,000 was a big jump, but we had a plan and made sure that every square foot would be used for family fun. Our new location included the “Corner Cafe”, known today as the “Carousel Café”, a 60 footlong redemption center and many new and old video and redemption games. In 1994 we added our electric bumper cars followed by Idaho’s first and only indoor carousel in 1996. Our bright carousel is what greets you today as you’re driving down Fairview Ave.

Progression always continues here at Pojo’s. Always finding the newest state of the art entertainment games, trending merchandise for our redemption center including our 20,000 VIP members, and always keeping Pojo’s fun and affordable for kids of all ages. In the 30 years that we’ve been at the Westgate Mall, the cost of our single ride ticket has never changed, $2. We are one of the only Family Fun Centers in the Treasure Valley that still operates on tokens and redemption tickets, and that won’t ever change.

Pojo’s has always been family owned and operated since the beginning. Started by Jim and Zetta Wood, it was operated with the help of their six children, Vickie, Gary, Tamara, Sandra, John, and Theresa. Today Pojo’s is owned and operated by Gary Wood, with the help of Tamara Wood as well as the third generation, Jonah Wood, Lexie Wood, Zachary Wood, and Jackie Hart, who all play key pivotal roles in the daily operations. And Dean Newkirk, who has built all our computer programs from the very beginning. Oh, and we can’t forget the 4th generation who work at Pojo’s as well.

To our customers, the community, former and current employees and to our beloved family, thank you! Thank you for believing in us, supporting us, listening to our crazy ideas, and for keep coming back. We could not have done this without you!

We can’t wait to see what the next 50 years has in store for us.
